Working from home may seem ideal, but managing one’s time can be tricky. Here are some ways to stay productive:
Change your mindset: After breakfast, switch to “work mode” to start your workday. If friends and family call or email you regularly, gently remind them that you will not be available until the evening, when your workday has finished.
Create a space: Choose an area to work that will be solely for your office. Make sure the space is well-lit and free of clutter. Nothing is as distracting as a nagging pile of papers and things that need to be sorted.
Take a break: Whether or not you’ve managed your time well throughout the morning, give your mind a rest. If possible, go outside for a quick walk or eat your lunch outdoors. Studies indicate that people who get enough rest or relaxation time are more efficient than those who don’t.
