Tan or neutral-colored heels will make your legs look longer. Plus, they are super-cute year-round.

I’m seeing all kinds of elaborate mani-pedi styles. Which colors work for an office setting, a networking event or a job interview?

Generally speaking, keeping your nails shorter -- painted in neutral colors -- and your cuticles trimmed is the way to go in a professional setting. Here are some other tips to consider:

Las Manos: You’re safest with light pink and ivory colors, but if you’re adventurous, you can pull off wearing soft yellows. Only a few of the bolder colors are appropriate, such as burnt reds and deep wines. With that said, you can get away with wearing the throwback half-moon design or wearing metallic tones in light colors.

Los Pies: Go dramatica on your pedicures only if you’re keeping toes hidden. Love those popular self-adhesive nail art stickers? No problem. Use them to recreate endless kinds of designs. For a ’50s or ’60s look, try fire-engine reds and pale pinks from those eras. Another idea is to incorporate the hugely popular glitter lacquers for a brilliant toe look.
